Community POV is built around a simple belief: the people closest to an issue often understand it in ways the public conversation misses.
Open briefs are where that perspective begins.
Each brief asks a focused question about something shaping real lives. Members respond from lived experience, professional experience, cultural experience, or community experience. Then we look across those responses to understand what is being said, what is unresolved, and what needs to be carried into the published Story.
How contributing works
Choose an open brief
Browse the briefs currently gathering perspective. Some briefs are open to all members. Others may be shown based on optional community identifiers in your profile.
Share what you know firsthand
Tell us what you have seen, felt, questioned, or experienced. You do not need to speak for everyone. Your perspective is enough.
Editors look for meaning
We review contributions for patterns, tensions, consensus, disagreement, and the parts of the story that rarely get named.
The Story gets published
Published Stories are shaped by member perspective and written for the public to read, share, and understand.
What makes a strong contribution
A strong contribution is honest, specific, and grounded in what you actually know. It does not have to be polished. It does not have to sound like an article. It just needs to help us understand the issue from where you stand.
Useful contributions often include:
- what people misunderstand
- what the conversation keeps leaving out
- what decision-makers should pay closer attention to
- what feels unresolved
- what the impact looks like in real life
Consent and attribution matter
Community POV is not here to extract people’s stories. Contributions are handled with consent and attribution in mind. You control how you want to be represented, and optional community identifiers are private. They help us show relevant briefs, but they are never shown publicly as your attribution.
